Rapid assessments of farmland biodiversity and its function in agri-food systems

Sustainable habitat management efforts can provide a solution for maximizing crop yield and profitability by expanding the range of ecosystem services agricultural landscapes provide to society. The purpose of this project is to improve the ability to measure the functional diversity of farmland insect communities to better understand their role in the ecosystem. This will be accomplished by creating monitoring programs that deliver real-time information on the species.
