In a recent article by Farmtario, Karen Hand, Food from Thought’s former Director of Research Data Strategy, discusses the barriers to digital ag technology adoption by farmers.

The article interviewed several experts on what the biggest impediments are to adopting new technologies on farms. Hand believes that the rate of adoption remains slow due to a lack of understanding on how best to utilize these technologies and there is a need for more research and development in order to improve adoption. Hand also points to the effect of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic on agricultural labour as evidence of the importance of overcoming these barriers.
